Optometry Services
At A to Z Eye Care, we are pleased to offer a wide range of optometry services for our community! Our experienced optometrists can provide you with thorough eye evaluations, determine if you need corrective lenses and your exact prescription strength, fit you with the appropriate specialty eyewear, and help you pick out the most flattering pair of glasses for your face shape and skin tone.
Our new patient appointments always begin with a comprehensive eye exam. If you are unsure of your family’s eye health history, it’s helpful to research beforehand, so we can better evaluate your own eye health. If you have never had a comprehensive exam, don’t worry! All the tests and exercises are simple and painless.
Dr. Sharpe can diagnose and treat eye diseases and identify general eye health problems including diabetes, anemia, high blood pressure, and others. We can also test for and fit specialty eyewear for sports, occupations, other activities and hobbies, and safety glasses.
Comprehensive Vision Analysis and Thorough Eye Health Evaluation
You deserve the best possible visual acuity, the best possible spectacle or contact lens technology suited for your visual needs, plus comfort and convenience. Welcome to our office where dedicated professionals take a sincere interest in your vision and overall well-being.
At any age, the early detection and treatment of eye disease is necessary to preserve a lifetime of great vision. We maintain the most advanced knowledge and technology available in order to monitor the health of your precious eyes. We have the Optos Optomap available for you.
The Optos Optomap is unique in that it gives your eye doctor an ultra-widefield digital picture of the back of the eye – your retina. The view of your retina is magnified, larger than seen with conventional eye exam equipment. Most images can be taken without dilating your pupils. Most importantly, digital pictures can be compared over time to document even the most subtle eye health changes. In our office, the patient and the doctor together can review the images. You see the difference state of the art technology brings to your eye health evaluation.
These diagnostic tools will test your eyes thoroughly and completely. Your comprehensive examination will evaluate for cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and numerous other eye diseases.
You will feel confident knowing you have experienced the best in eye care, provided by caring doctors and knowledgeable staff.

Infant Eye Examinations
Dr. Sharpe is a participating provider of infant vision eye examinations through a public health program called InfantSee. Under this program, he provides a comprehensive eye assessment, for infants between six months and one year of age, as a NO Cost public health service.
Between six months and one year of age, you should take your baby to your doctor of optometry for his or her first thorough eye examination. Things that the optometrist will test for include excessive or unequal amounts of nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism and eye movement ability as well as eye health problems. These problems are not common, but it is important to identify children who have them at this stage. Vision development and eye health problems can be more easily corrected if treatment is begun early.
Between birth and age three, when many of your baby’s vision skills will develop, there are ways that you can help.

Dry Eye Sufferers
Are your eyes frequently dry, red, itchy or tired? Are you always reaching for the eye drops? Do you have difficulty wearing contact lenses?
Up until now, only short-term remedies have been available. Even lubricating drops give only temporary relief, since 80 percent of the moisture drains down your nose and throat right away.
Now there’s long-term relief for all the irritating and damaging symptoms of Dry Eye Syndrome. A new technology utilizing a “moisture retension device”, works by partially and safely blocking your tear drainage ducts so that your own naturally lubricating tears stay where they belong – in your eyes!
Ask our Doctors about having a simple diagnostic test done. Stop suffering and start feeling moist relief.
Surgical Co-Management
Vision, in the broadest sense, is the global ability of the brain to extract, process and act on information presented to the eye. This complex process can be thought of as three major but related areas: visual acuity, which is largely dependent upon refractive status and eye health; visual efficiency skills, representing eye focusing, teaming, and tracking skills; and visual information processing, representing the ability to recognize and discriminate visual stimuli and to interpret them correctly based upon previous experience. Every examination we provide, regardless of age, has these thoughts in mind.
Additionally, we have working arrangements established with other specialized eye care doctors to manage such things are retinal detachments, diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration and retinal hemorrhages.
